Wallet is built to keep your spending on your own phone. This page says
plainly what leaves it, when, and to whom.
What stays on your phone
Your wallet — every entry, category, account, loan and bill — is one file on
your device. The app works completely with no account and no connection. If
you never sign in, nothing about your spending ever reaches us.
What we store, and only if you sign in
- Your account. An identifier we generate, your name and
email address where the sign-in provider gives them, and which ways you
can sign in (Google, Apple, Facebook, or an email and password).
- Your backup. Your wallet, sent as a single block of text
so you can get it back on a new phone. Our server stores it and does not
read or interpret what is inside it. It is not, however, encrypted in a
way that would stop us reading it if we chose to — treat it as data held
by us, not as a sealed envelope.
- Categories you share. A shared category, its members and
its entries, stored the same way, readable by the people you shared it
with.
- Invitations. A short code pointing at a shared category.
It is deleted the moment it is used, and expires after five minutes.
Who else sees anything
- Sign-in providers. Google, Apple or Facebook tell us who
you are when you choose to sign in with them. We ask for your name and
email address and nothing else.
- Google (Gemini) for the AI features. Insights send a list
of figures we have already worked out on your phone — never your raw
entries, and nothing at all from a category you joined rather than own.
Voice entry sends the words you spoke, as text: the recording
itself never leaves your phone. Neither feature runs unless you
use it.
- Our hosting, Laravel Cloud, on servers in Frankfurt,
Germany, which is where the data above is stored.
We do not sell anything to anyone, and there is no advertising or tracking in Wallet.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Profile. Your backup is
kept for 30 days so that signing
in the same way brings it back if you change your mind, and is then erased for
good. Categories you shared with other people stay with them.

and ask for a copy of what we hold, or for it to be deleted.
Children
Wallet is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep their data.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before
it takes effect.
